Support CRY: Fundraising Initiatives and Events

Fundraising for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)

Our aim is to raise funds to bring a free cardiac screening day to our local community in partnership with Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)

Three years ago, my best friend experienced every parent's worst nightmare when she suddenly lost her beautiful 19-year-old daughter to an undiagnosed heart condition. Her loss changed so many lives forever and highlighted a heartbreaking reality – young, seemingly healthy people can be living with hidden cardiac conditions without ever knowing.

In the years since, we've wanted to do something meaningful in her memory and to help prevent other families from experiencing the same unimaginable heartbreak.

That's why we're raising funds to bring a Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) screening day to our community. CRY's cardiac screenings can detect potentially life-threatening heart conditions in young people, giving families answers, reassurance, and, in some cases, the chance to save a life.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help us move closer to providing local young people with access to potentially life-saving heart screenings and raising awareness of the importance of cardiac health.

This fundraiser is more than just an event—it's a way to honour a much-loved daughter, support local families, and create something positive from an unimaginable loss.

If we can help save even one life, every effort will have been worth it.

Our First Fundraising Event

Our first major fundraising event will be the September Makers Market, where our wonderful community will come together to support this important cause.

The market will be more than just a shopping event – it will be a day of remembrance, awareness, and hope. Alongside talented local makers and small businesses, we'll be raising funds and spreading awareness about sudden cardiac death in young people and the vital work of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

Every stall visited, every raffle ticket bought, and every donation made will bring us one step closer to hosting a local CRY screening day and giving young people access to potentially life-saving heart screenings.

This event marks the beginning of our fundraising journey, and we hope our community will join us in turning heartbreak into hope and helping protect other families from experiencing a similar loss. ❤️

Thank you for your support, your kindness, and for helping us make this screening day a reality. ❤️
